Crescent Sewer Update 04/13/2020
The collection system for the sewer project has been in full-swing for the past several months. We were making great progress up until the Corona Virus safety restrictions were implemented several weeks ago. Our construction crews have been downsized to 10 for the whole project. We were hoping this wouldn’t delay the project, however, realistically it may delay it by at least a month. We plan to be operational by late August, barring any unforeseen issues with Covid-19.
The main sewer line on Main St. is complete and we did run into large boulders and basalt heading north. A large jackhammer was used to break up the rocks. We’re now running into more large rocks on 4th and possibly will along other uphill roads. We’re sorry for the inconvenience this maybe causing you.
We will start installing lateral lines to your homes/businesses within the coming months, we will give you advance notice of when this will impact your area. Please be aware that our crews are currently working on installation of main and lateral lines. The repair of roads, asphault and minor landscaping will be done at the completion of project. The CSD will repair any damaged they have created.
Due to numerous project delays, our sewer rates cannot be determined until project cost processed. As soon as we’re able to determine final cost, we will notify all customers within the district.
I know this is a tough time for our community, with the loss of jobs, children out of school. Our families and community are our upmost priority and want everyone to safe and healthy. We are striving keep everyone safe.
